We are a locally owned, and invested in the Spencer County community with staff that is highly trained, skilled, and personally invested in providing energetic and fun-loving friendly service to each patient. Our team is among the top 4% in rank and skill in all of Kentucky with over 35 collective years of experience in treating patients with the highest level of care. We strive to stay abreast of the latest in technological advances by regularly attending continuing education courses and seminars. We believe it is essential to incorporate a holistic approach to healing because an injury not only causes physical damage, it also affects your emotional and mental state. Shawn Maskalick

Shawn is a graduate of Bellarmine University in Louisville, KY, where he earned a Bachelor’s of Health Science degree, a Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree, as well as having become an American College of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer. Shawn is a family man, married to Lisa Maskalick, who is a Registered Nurse of 16 years. They have 2 young boys, Paxen who is 8 years old, and Koven who is 6. Shawn is an avid outdoorsman who loves to fish, and has competed in Kayak Bass Fishing’s National Championship for the past 2 years.

Shawn is a published author, having published the Exercise Physiology chapter in the textbook, “Orthopedic Physical Therapy Secrets 3rd edition.” Shawn has also had his research published in the journal, “Aging and Mental Health,” where he studied the association between depression and tinnitus in a nationally representative sample of US older adults.

Lisa Burchell, PTA

Lisa joined the staff of Spencer County Physical Therapy in 2010. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Eastern Kentucky University in 1988 and an Associate in Applied Science degree from Jefferson Community College/UK Community College System in 1999. She has been a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) since 1999.

She holds the following certifications: Certified Weight Trainer (CWT) and Certified Strength Training Specialist (CSTS) from the International Weightlifting Association, Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) from the National Federation of Personal Trainers, Physical Ability Test Administrator from Advanced Ergonomics, and Functional Movement Screen Certified (FMS) from Functional Movement Systems.

Leslie Cole

Leslie was born and raised in Irvine, KY. she has lived in Spencer County since 1999. She lives with her husband Daniel and their 2 sons, Jacob and Jackson. She has worked in the healthcare field since 1997 and joined Spencer County Physical Therapy in 2014. She is a Certified Professional Coder and a member of the AAPC.

When she isn’t watching her sons play baseball and basketball, she enjoys camping with her family and friends.
