  • Dr. Becky House

Becky is a 1994 graduate of the University of Louisville with a Bachelor of Health and Science degree in Business Administration. After working in the public sector for 5 years for large corporations, Becky chose to open her own clinic to enable her to spend more time with each of her patients. She founded Spencer County Physical Therapy in 1999 with the goal of providing skilled manual therapy services to the residents of Spencer County and surrounding areas. Becky completed advanced training and earned her Master of Health and Science in Physical Therapy (MHS) degree in 2004 from Krannert School of Physical Therapy in Indianapolis and went on to complete her doctorate degree (DPT) in 2011. Becky is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) which is a prestigious and difficult certification awarded by the American Physical Therapy Association. An Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist has undergone extensive testing in the field of orthopaedic injury, diagnosis and treatment. Fewer than 4% of all Kentucky licensed Physical Therapists hold this distinction. Becky is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. She is trained to develop programs to increase strength, endurance, speed and agility. These traits are essential to athletes to create an advantage when competing and to reduce injuries. Becky is also Certified in Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA). The SFMA is used to identify faulty movement patterns which allows her to customize the most appropriate treatment program to correct faulty patterns and restore normal function. Dysfunctional movement is often responsible for pain. Correcting the movement often leads to the reduction or elimination of pain.
